This requires driving to and from each facility. An IT Specialist must be physically and legally able to operate a motor vehicle. • Employee must be able to climb stairs, carry equipment (as outlined in physical capabilities), and walk to offer technical support throughout office and mills at each location • Daily on-site support is required along with on-call and emergency support at all locations. Reliable transportation to sites is required. • Enforce company policies in areas of safety and security throughout all operations. OVERVIEW The IT Specialist focus will be to support programs and equipment that meet current and on-going business needs. This will include computer network, client and server computers, software installation and maintenance, ERP/MRP system maintenance of the production inventory ticketing system, production ing, accounting programs, systems backups and recovery, electronic document storage, and providing local support for offices and mill locations. QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION: • Satisfactorily perform all areas addressed in the “Summary of Responsibilities”. • Hands on experience and / or certification with on-site computer service, troubleshooting and repair along with customer service experience. • Network systems experience and / or certification including switches, routers, firewalls, and security appliances. • Operating system experience with Microsoft including servers, desktop, and tablet computers. • Microsoft Server systems experience with version 2012 through current versions including Azure, AD, files share, terminal servers, and user rights management and shared printer setups. • Current Microsoft software experience with Excel, Word, Access, SQL, SSRS along with experience in VBA, ODBC, ActiveX, OLE and Macro and programming. • Follow and develop written programming standards, design and documentation for software and programming. • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical people (verbally and in writing) and provide documentation using standard tools. • Experience in writing and architecture in various ing tools including Excel, InforM3 Birst, SSRS and Crystal. • Understands concepts of DBA and data organization in an MRP / ERP systems. • College degree in Computer Sciences is preferred, but equivalent work experience is acceptable. • Responsibility in the areas of computers support with emphasis in the wood products industry. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Network Maintenance • Daily support of network systems, infrastructure, user administration in a shared multi-site multi-city network. • Network, internet, and WAN traffic management providing internet access and communication to other company sites. • Support of off-site and web (cloud) based applications including email, MRP, ERP and payroll systems. • Improve current and future processes, systems, software, and operations by providing programming, technical design and improvements of software, hardware, and network equipment. • Work with providers to trouble shoot network, internet, and WAN problems. Operational Support • New system facilitation, current system enhancements including new system installs and repairs to meet manufacturing and administrations timelines. • Maintain network security and policies for all locations. • Manage internal/external application upgrades and change management. • Maintain and support the manufacturing system and inventory process. Support for ticketing system and performing inventory with handheld barcode scanners along with hands on training to users. User Training • Work with staff and employees to provide training and documentation for on-site systems and processes. Competencies • Microsoft Server systems experience with versions 2012 through current versions including Azure, AD, DNS, files share, terminal servers, user rights management and shared printer system setup. • Current Microsoft software experience with Office365, Excel, Word, Access, along with experience in Visual Basic and ODBC capabilities a plus. • Current Microsoft software experience with Office365, Excel, Word, Access, SQL, SSRS along with experience in VBA, ODBC, ActiveX, OLE and Macro and programming capabilities. • Follow and develop written programming standards, design and documentation for software and programming. • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical people (verbally and in writing) and provide documentation using standard tools. • Experience in writing and architecture in various ing tools including Excel, InforM3 Birst, SSRS and Crystal. • Understands concepts of DBA and data organization in an MRP / ERP system • College degree in Computer Sciences is preferred, but equivalent work experience is acceptable. • Knowledge of system utilities, system tools and management applications including understanding of PowerShell, HTML, XML and macro scripts. • PC hardware and software diagnostics and troubleshooting. • Printer systems including shared and standalone. • Manufacturing and inventory systems including rugged workstations, bar code systems and handheld inventory computers. Professional Qualities • Ability to provide excellent customer support to employees on-site and on-call. • Work well with other IT staff at other locations to solve problems. • Write documentation, help, and train end users. Language Skills • Ability to read an interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine s and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and / or employees at all levels. Reasoning Ability Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Good troubleshooting skills and use of documentation and research, as well as experience to resolve issues. Physical Capabilities Employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. During the normal course of business, there is exposure to physical and environmental hazards requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Employee and direct s should familiarize themselves with policies and locations that require the use of PPE. Safety guidelines in a manufacturing facility must be followed and maintained, including lockout and tag out procedures. Must be available to travel for support at multiple locations. Driving safety guidelines must be followed and the ability to operate a motor vehicle physically and legally for community to and from work, as well as between company locations.
