Director of Accounting
Full Time
Salary: Up to $115K

Job Summary:

Exploria Resorts is seeking a Director of Accounting to become an integral part of our team. This position will lead and direct Exploria’s Accounting functions and personnel while reporting to the Vice President of Finance. The Director of Accounting will be a part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify resolve and document Accounting issues. This position will also be responsible for providing recommendations on efficient and effective business rules. This position will be responsible for managing a professional staff of three or more.
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for all the daily functions of the Accounting department
• Responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly financial statements
• Responsible for providing detailed variance explanations for financial results of operations to the management team and providing recommendations for improvements
• Work with external auditors in preparing annual audits and reviews of Financial statements as required
• Responsible for preparation of the annual operating cash flow/budgets
• Responsible for instituting accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
• Responsible for implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective internal control
• Responsible for audits or inquiries by various taxing authorities for developer companies and or work with tax CPA firm on such matters
• Responsible for maintaining Fixed Assets records and reporting
• Responsible for financial calculation covenant and reporting requirements per lender agreements
• Responsible for timely filings of Sales, Use, Payroll, and Personal Property taxes
• Review and input with regards to select corporate contracts
• Merchant account relations and Florida banking relations

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• CPA desirable
• MBA desirable
• Timeshare experience preferable
• HOA Accounting experience desirable
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance roles
• 5 + years’ experience in higher level leadership roles and management of Accounting and Finance operations
• Thorough working knowledge of GAAP, Accountancy and Financial Reporting
• Strong experience in both public and private companies is desirable
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
• Exceptional work ethic
• Ability to lead and manage multiple tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $115,000.00 per year
