Job Summary:

Exploria Resorts is seeking an HOA Accounting Manager to become an integral part of our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the HOA financial statements, audits, budgets, cash planning and communications with the HOA Board of Directors. This person will report to the Director of HOA Accounting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all internal and external reporting (actual and budgets), with support from the Director of HOA Accounting
• Manage, assign, and monitor work of accounting staff, review and post staff journal entries.
• Daily functions for assigned HOAs, includes invoice approval, contract review, cash receipts, dailies, etc.
• Own the monthly financial close process, including the detailed review of journal entries, account balance reconciliations, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows
• This person will own the revenue accounting for month-end close
• Closely manage a team that supports the day-to-day accounting operations
• Manage cash forecasting and support cash management reporting as needed
• Prepare the month-end reporting package and data integrity in reports delivered to the HOA Director of Accounting.
• Actively look for ways to build out internal controls and improve the current quote to cash and procure to pay functions
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements
• Provide accounting guidance to the team
• Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns and ensure the timely filing of Sales taxes, State and Federal returns
• Ensure Accounting Policies are kept up to date
• Supervision of staff review of work product- includes handling all phases of employee relations, training and ensuring job scope and duties/accounting are accurately performed (cash receipts, monthly close, invoice approvals, cash management / check writing, reporting)
• Draft Financial statements, including all internal and external reports based on generally accepted accounting principles and standards
• Traveling to Resorts and conduct/overseeing physical inventory of various HOA operations/divisions

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5 + years of relevant experience with 2 + years in Management
• Timeshare/Hospitality/HOA industry experience required
• CPA is desirable
• CAM preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
• Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate effectively
• Strong working knowledge of Accounting
• Strong working knowledge of HOA Accounting
• Ability review and analyze financial statements
• Ability to perform analysis and complete variance explanations
• Strong Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP, IF functions, pivot tables, etc.
• Comfortable with fast-paced, demanding environment
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and urgent demands at any given point, while adapting to changing priorities
• Detailed oriented and strong project management skills are a must as this is a critical function
• Outstanding communication skills (written/ oral) and ability to partner cross-functionally
• Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written and work with Senior Management to strategize and plan to insure completion of goals and objectives
• Thinks strategically but stays on top of tactical execution
• Must be able to instill a sense of urgency
• Must be able to drive projects/tasks to completion
• Must be able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
• Moderate Travel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
