The Role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team, specialising in financial planning and analysis. This is a varied, exciting role; an ideal next step for a part qualified accountant looking to grow their career within an innovative company that makes a difference to children’s education.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will use your existing budgeting and financial planning skills to produce budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. You will also support the wider finance team with day-to-day management of financial data and with producing timely management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce the annual budget and long-term financial plan, working closely with the Finance Director and the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis
• Manage short-term forecasting requirements, including weekly cashflow modelling and quarterly reforecasting
• Assist the Financial Accounting Manager with month end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and board information pack
• Produce various ad hoc scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis
• Prepare insightful analysis to department heads and other senior stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement into the forecasting process and wider accounting processes

Skills & Experience:

• Part-qualified or finalist CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
• Experience of processing month end journals and reconciliations
• Ability to work collaboratively across wider finance team and other departments
• Inquisitive and analytical approach
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience of accounting packages
• Good communicator, able to explain financial information to non-financial audiences
• Strong commitment to the company’s purpose

Salary and logistics:

Location: The role is open to remote working with regular visits to centre locations and collaboration in our Guildford office

Salary: circa £38k depending on skills and experience
