Project Manager:

The Project Managers plan, initiate, and oversee execution of a project(s), often working with multiple internal teams, contractors, and clients. Project managers are often involved in early discussions with the client and upper management to ensure they have a clear understanding of the client’s desired goals and outcomes. They then determine what resources, processes, and other materials will be necessary to complete the project in the desired timeline, drawing up plans for every phase of execution. This often involves delegating tasks or significant portions of the project to coordinators or teams of employees to be able to maintain a broad overall view of the entire project throughout.

The Project Manager is the one ultimately responsible for the final quality of a project, ensuring that it’s delivered on time and to the client’s satisfaction. For this reason, project management is more of a leadership role, one that frequently involves trusting others with completion of specific parts or stages of a plan or process.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifying and breaking down the main parts of a process to organize the project into stages with realistic timelines
• Accurately estimating the work hours and other resources each major project stage will require.
• Since the final project plan must account for the company’s time and financial requirements
• Manage the client’s quality expectations,
• Project Managers must be capable of performing the complex calculations necessary for risk assessments, resource allocation, and budgeting.
• Must be able to maintain a clear and accurate picture of all simultaneous and overlapping parts of the process.
• Regularly checking in with multiple teams and departments.
• Review work following the completion of each stage
• Participate in ensuring the project is on schedule and on budget
• Actively participate in required team meetings and provide feedback and updates to the team
• Actively participate in ensuring the project is on schedule and on budget and stays within scope
• Clearly communicate internally and externally to ensure business requirements line up with project scope
• Manage project team time record keeping
• Identify & document potential risks and issues and in conjunction with the project team determine mitigation strategies
• Understand both Agile and Waterfall frameworks
• Provide project status using standard Project documents to leadership
• Participate in the on-going quality improvement efforts for implementation tools and processes
• Actively participate in departmental meetings
• Manage the project utilizing project management strategies and documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certified completion of a Project Management Certificate program.

Work Experience Requirements:

• 8 years as a professional Project Manager within a highly complex corporate environment, managing high dollar, multi-phased projects.
• 1-3 years Business Application Implementation experience
• Managed Care, HMO, or healthcare experience desired.
• State and Federal government program experience such as TriCare and VA CCN preferred
• Possess a solid understanding of various software development processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, release, and version control, testing methodologies, and deployment management
• Understanding and experience with Agile vs. Waterfall Methodology
• Proven ability to work independently, under pressure and/or within a restricted timeframe.
• Strong customer management skills, including the ability to work with them to develop and manage an implementation plan.
• Must be able to proficiently use Microsoft Project to resource allocation, project percent complete, actual vs. budget variances and similar details.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
• This position requires US Citizenship status
