Evolution Wheel Hiring for Buyer/Planner at Winnipeg, MB Full Time

Evolution Wheel is looking for an individual to join our team who can fill the role of a buyer. This person will work with the company’s owner and managers to assist in making sure inventory and consumables are readily available and vendor relationships are properly managed. A combination of a strong attention to detail and excellent negotiating skills will be the keys to success in this position.

Job Activities

• Creation of Purchase Orders to vendors
• Monitor Open PO reports and expedite when appropriate
• Setup and manage safety stock levels for inventory items
• Setup and manage safety stock levels for shop consumables across all departments
• Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers in North America and overseas
• Develop and complete supplier scorecard ratings
• Travelling to meet with and inspect vendor facilities and operations
• Recommend a sourcing strategy to meet 6-month sales demand, market conditions and maximize positive impact to the organization.
• Lead procurement related negotiations with existing and new vendors.
• Coordinate shipping of raw materials within North America and from overseas
• Coordinate shipping of finished product to customers within North America and overseas
• Setting up and managing relationships with freight vendors including rate negotiation

Requirements

• Post-secondary education and experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment with a strong sourcing track record of managing risks and cost reductions.
• Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain management
• Experience with shipping internationally
• Accomplished negotiator with experience in total cost analysis and possessing a firm grasp of finance principles.
• Candidate should be able to employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills while making decisions based on multiple options and determine the right course of action.

Salary – Will vary based on candidates experience and ability.
