JOB DESCRIPTION – TEACHER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to assure that all students learn the essential skills at each grade level in an environment that encourages positive experiences for all. Work with students in large groups, small groups, and individually to develop social and academic knowledge.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Promotes the vision, mission, and core values of EverGreen Academy.
• Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the school’s vision, mission, and core values.
• Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching and provides substitute plans when necessary.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
• Responsible for cleanliness of own classroom.
• Follows guidelines set forth by Love and Logic.
• Provides progressive and interim reports as required.
• Recognizes learning problems and makes referrals as appropriate.
• Assists in consequences of students and possibly facilitating afterschool detention.
• Demonstrates a strong grasp of subject matter.
• Accurately maintains a grade book based on standards set by EverGreen Academy.
• Uses effective oral and written expression when communicating with parents.
• Facilitates parent/teacher conferences.
• Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory and is willing to share this knowledge for continual improvement of the school’s curriculum.
• Creates an afterschool club or participates in an afterschool committee.
• Assists in car line and supervise recess.
• Attends PTO and school sponsored activities.
• Follows and shows a general knowledge of guidelines set forth in EverGreen Academy’s Staff Handbook.
• Performs other duties reasonably related to the safe and efficient administration of the school.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $36,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
Currently the vaccine and masks will be optional for employees and students. Those exposed to COVID-19 who are vaccinated and not showing symptoms will not have to quarantine. Exposed persons who are not vaccinated will be required to quarantine.
