Logistics Coordinator
The purpose of this position is to plan, negotiate, contract, direct, and coordinate the transportation operations both with trucking companies and within the company. The Logistics Coordinator will also verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing equipment shipments, as well as, handle issues that arise with our shipments.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Negotiate pricing & coordinate shipping for new, used, rental, and demo equipment. Shipping may be done by medium to large trucks or even shipments made by traditional box freight.
• Responsible for completing shipping inspection template and watch for damage and notate.
• Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles making equipment deliveries and pick up by determining optimal routing to minimize cost while maintaining customer satisfaction with desired delivery schedule. Determine shipping method for construction machinery, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Responsible for working with freight brokers and freight companies when shipping claims need to be filed.
• Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints and resolve to customers satisfaction while being sensitive to Everest’s operating costs.
• Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
• Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment. Take pictures of the equipment and ensures all machines meet Everest’s quality before it leaves the yard; attachments and look for damage on returned equipment and take pictures as needed when damage is noted. File damage claims with trucking companies on miscellaneous items.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for ing, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
• Contact the carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting or related business field preferred.
• Mechanical/Technical Associates degree preferred.
• 3 or more years of experience in Billing, Invoicing, and Shipping required.
• Strong Customer service skills required.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to move equipment around the yard required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite, such as Excel, Word, and Power Point required.
• Ability to manage time and multi-task with little to no supervision required.
