Electric vehicle sales are booming – it’s been predicted that 50% of new cars sold as of 2030 globally will be electric. But one of the most challenging elements of owning an electric vehicle is its charging – and that’s where we come in.

We set up in 2018 to make EV charging simple, green and low cost for drivers, to encourage EV adoption and contribute to the decarbonization of transport. Core to the ev.energy platform is a proprietary smart-charging algorithm, dynamically aligning charging with intermittent low-carbon electricity, reducing carbon emissions from grid electricity by as much as 70%.

We have a diverse and fully remote team of roughly 70 – and we’re growing! We’ve grown to over 100,000 drivers, secured $13 million in Series A funding, and were named ‘Best Energy Startup in the World’. But we need more talented folks to join us on the journey as we launch worldwide, grow our driver base to over 1 million, and deliver new charging services and analytics offerings.

The role

We’re looking for someone to take ownership of all things People & Talent as we scale our team up globally up to and over 100 people. You’ll come in and shape our people operations and recruitment strategies for the better.

You’ll have a passion for working with early stage start-ups, having worked in fast-moving and dynamic companies in the past, and know how to implement recruitment processes from the ground up. You’ll make sure everyone has an amazing experience working here from start to finish – from their initial application or call, to their interviews, to their onboarding, pushing for their growth and enabling them to do their best possible work.

Responsibilities

• You’ll develop and maintain our recruitment processes and procedures across the globe (UK, US, Europe)
• You’ll source, hire, attract and retain diverse talent for all areas of the business, build employer brand and create job descriptions
• Deliver a high level of candidate experience throughout the interview process to ensure all those who interview with us walk away with a positive view of ev.energy and the team
• Drive and maintain a high level of diverse hiring practices
• Assist the People Ops Lead with onboarding and offboarding, and make improvements where possible
• Working alongside the People Ops Lead on performance reviews and L&D, thinking outside the box to make improvements
• Establish future talent schemes to attract diverse talent and encourage a strong pipeline of junior talent
• You will approach all aspects of people and talent with a creative and imaginative mindset, to solve problems efficiently and with ease

What are we looking for?

• Experience working with a start-up/ scale-up in the past, or at least a smaller company where you’ve had a lot of ownership and responsibility
• Previous experience setting up recruitment processes and procedures and effectively implementing them
• Experience with international recruitment specifically within the US is essential
• Experience in end-to-end recruitment – ideally covering a mixture of roles including tech to non-tech but we’re open to any experience as long we you’re excited to learn
• Someone comfortable working independently, who is comfortable collaborating with peers across the business (from Engineering to Sales, Design, Product, Commercial and Operations)
• You can comfortably coach and mentor senior stakeholders when it comes to people strategy and best practice
