Evanya Consulting is hiring a Senior Server Administrator for our client Sask Energy.

The successful candidate will work within the existing team to help with the design and implementation of the various components of the VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Microsoft Server and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implementation, documentation, administration and troubleshooting of the enterprise server, storage, and backup environments
• Helps prepare plans for development and installation of server and storage according to present and future requirements
• Provide expert technical design, implementation, maintenance, and administration of the Microsoft on premise Server environment and our IBM AIX server environment. Deploy AIX partitions (LPARs) as required
• Provides expert technical design, implementation, maintenance, and administration support with the VMware environment including but not limited to VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon
• Provides expert technical design, implementation, maintenance, and administration on IBM storage environments, including all aspects of the storage infrastructure.
• Provide expert technical support, design, and implementation on Microsoft Server and Hyper-V environments
• Monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting and resolution of system problems to ensure system availability
• Manage and maintain server disaster recovery including planning, implementation, maintenance and testing
• Manages all aspects of enterprise backup and recovery utilizing IBM Spectrum Protect software
• Manage and maintain the configuration, administration, upgrade, and maintenance of operational technology servers and related infrastructure
• Interacts with our user base (corporate and field employees) on an as needed basis regarding technology issues and escalations
• Provides infrastructure architecture recommendations
• Works with server patch management processes and procedures to facilitate deployment
• Maintains systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures and communication with internal customers
• Accomplishes department objectives by leading staff, organizing and monitoring work process
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out position responsibilities
• Attends and participates in team meetings
• Act as a representative of DT&S

Mandatory Requirement:

• Resource must have a minimum 7 years of recent and practical server administration experience
• Resource must have a minimum 5 years of recent and practical senior server administration experience
• Resource must have a valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License (or equivalent)
• Resource must be willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays

Requirement:

• Proven proficiency in Microsoft on premise server design, implementation, and administration
• Proven proficiency in VMware vSphere design, implementation, and administration
• Proven proficiency in Hyper-V architecture, design, and implementation
• Proven proficiency with server, storage, cloud storage and backup security best practices
• Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration direction within an organization
• Understanding of enterprise level on premise server and cloud architecture
• Understanding of integrations of an on premise environment and the cloud.
• Proven proficiency in AIX 7.2
• Proven proficiency in AIX NIM
• Proven proficiency in IBM PowerVM / VIO
• Proven proficiency in IBM Power 7/8/9
• Proven proficiency in IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) v6/v7/v8
• Proven proficiency in IBM Storwize v7000, IBM / Brocade fibre channel switches, IBM Spectrum Virtualize, IBM Storage Replication, IBM Spectrum Control
• Proven proficiency in SpectraLogic Enterprise Tape Library
• Experience in influencing and establishing collaboration direction within an organization
• Understanding of enterprise level
