Technical Project Engineer (Building Envelopes) – Liverpool, UK

A new vacancy for a Technical Project Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPES) with leading UK provider of specialist testing, assessment & approval services to the Construction industry. Reporting in to the company’s offices in Liverpool City Centre, the Technical Project Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPES) will also have the option of working from home 2-3 days per week.

The main purpose of the Civil Structural Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPES) role is to plan, co-ordinate and carry out assessments of construction products and systems related to building envelope structures & structural engineering. You will be managing multiple projects where you will be expected to prepare contract offers and estimates for the assessment of various types of construction products and systems related to civil/structural engineering. The Technical Project Engineer (BUILDING ENVELOPES) will also be required to research and investigate aspects of construction product/system performance, work as part of a team contributing to team and individual targets and objectives and regularly converse with clients ensuring you maintain good quality and standards at all times.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Research and investigate aspects of construction performance.
• Assess fitness for purpose of products within contract periods and price estimates.
• Co-ordinate work and activities involved in assessments, including sub-contracting work.
• Carry out ongoing client support tasks including assessment of factory surveillance reports.

Desired Skills & Technical Expertise:

• BSc / BEng or above in relevant Engineering or Science discipline
• Experience working with FACADES, CLADDING, ROOFING or CURTAIN WALLING
• Experience in Construction industry:
• – Materials: steel, concrete, timber
• – Design, site, warranty company
• – Building control
• – Product testing, fire engineering
