We’re looking for an Interactive Media Writer to help us grow the Filipino TV brand and connect with our multicultural, diverse and team partners through personalized communications and activities.

Location: 120 Amber streetMarkham, ONL3R 3A3
Salary: $54,000 annually

Terms of employment: Permanent employment at 30 hours/week
Start date: As soon as possible

Tasks:

• Co-ordinate project
• Conceive and write novels, plays, scripts, poetry and other material for publication or presentation
• Conduct research to establish factual content and to obtain other necessary information
• Copy editing
• Interviewing
• Text publishing and distribution
• Research: Documentary writers and content creators must be skilled researchers, able to find and gather information from a variety of sources, including books, interviews, archival footage, and online databases.
• Writing: They must have strong writing skills to be able to craft a compelling narrative for the documentary or content piece.
• Interviewing: They should be able to conduct effective interviews with subjects, asking thoughtful questions and drawing out insights and anecdotes.
• Storytelling: They must be able to tell a story that is engaging, informative, and emotionally resonant, using visuals, audio, and other tools to bring the story to life.
• Planning: Documentary writers and content creators need to be excellent planners, able to create a schedule and budget, manage production logistics, and coordinate with team members.
• Editing: They should have a good sense of pacing and structure, able to trim down hours of footage to create a cohesive, effective final product.
• Collaboration: They must be skilled collaborators, able to work closely with directors, producers, editors, and other team members to bring the project to completion.
• Marketing: They should have a basic understanding of marketing and promotional techniques, able to create trailers, teasers, and social media content to generate buzz and attract viewers.
• Legal: Documentary writers and content creators must be aware of legal considerations, such as copyright law and privacy rights, and ensure that their work does not infringe on others’ rights.
• Ethics: They should also have a strong ethical sense, ensuring that their work is fair, balanced, and honest, and that they treat subjects with respect and sensitivity.

Requirements

Languages: English, Filipino/Tagalog an asset since it is for Filipino TV

Education

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
• or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
