Job Description

esure Group are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer who specialises in all things Tableau. You will play a key part in developing, leading and being the centre of excellence for the Tableau tool and ensuring that the platform is the best that it can be.

All our data teams at esure are continuing to build an outstanding environment for data led decisioning to thrive and pushing boundaries of what’s possible in the world of data analytics and engineering! You will work closely with many of our business areas, showing them the benefits of using Tableau and supporting them to embed the tool into their department.

What you’ll do:

• Build, maintain and own the Tableau platform, ensuring that it fully interacts with our industry leading platform and other data tools we use (such as Databricks)
• Build and roll out Tableau best practice, processes, guides and templates for the data team and the wider data community to support them with the use of Tableau
• Run workshops/surgeries with Tableau content creators around the business to enhance their capabilities and encourage best practice
• Create compelling visualisations that help drive decision-making which in turn will lead to real business benefits
• Work with our Product Managers and Data Engineers to come up with technical solutions for our most pressing data problems
• Help foster the data community at esure, demonstrating the art of the possible

Qualifications

What are we looking for?:

• An expert when it comes to Tableau, someone who understand the technicality of the platform and who can design, develop, configure, deploy and maintain it to its best ability
• Extensive experience with data manipulation tools and languages
• Strong experience building dashboards and compelling data visualisations
• Hands on experience in all phases of data modelling from conceptualisation to optimisation, supported by advanced SQL skills
• Someone who can perform the engineering necessary to analyse, model, transform, test, and optimise substantial volumes of data from multiple sources
