Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Tester/ QA Apprentice with Dootrix, a cloud technology business based in Fareham/ Manchester. This role is a remote role.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in computers and software, with a career goal of working within the software industry. We need someone who is methodical, accurate, wants to work in a team, values quality and wants to learn.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

• You will be working within an agile team, with a designated mentor to support and guide you through the apprenticeship programme.
• You will divide your time between learning and training as well as working on live projects.
• You will quickly become responsible for testing software on a day-to-day basis. Working with your team to understand what a working feature is before its built.
• You’ll develop an understanding of usability – how end users interact with different devices in different contexts.
• Test on all supported browsers and devices.
• Test Planning – devise tests based on functional specifications, including
• acceptance criteria.
• Test documentation – record and report test results.

Qualifications:

• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths).

Training to be provided:

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:

• Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
• Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
• Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
• Understand the software lifecycle and apply software development practices.
• Document and report test results.
• Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
