About the role
The Clinical Educator delivers best practice and innovative training solutions that engage ambulance learners to become highly skilled, flexible and engaged people in ESTA’s Operations Centres. Under the guidance of the Performance and Capability Lead, the clinical educator is responsible for providing training to new and existing learners and implementing changes to training initiatives focusing on continuous improvement to ESTA’s learners who operate in a mission critical environment. The clinical educator will be responsible for the development of training strategies and packages for new learners and existing employees, facilitation of learning with other users including ESTA employees, learners and trainer training. The role also has responsibility for the IAED Emergency Medical Dispatch training program including recertification. The main component of the position is group teaching of core clinical skills which includes simulated workshops, CPR, ProQA and EMD. The position exercises a high degree of delegated responsibility and authority on operational matters, initiative, mature judgment, excellent liaison skills and the ability to represent the ESTA Learning Centre within the emergency services sector.

About you To be considered for this opportunity, you will have the following:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV Training & Assessment (or equivalent) or be willing to obtain at ESTA’s expense
- Willing to obtain the 22456VIC Certificate II in Emergency Communications or equivalent at ESTA’s expense
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certification
- Previous training, experience, and certification or licensure as an ALS-level medical practitioner (i.e., paramedic, EMS nurse, or EMS physician)
- Five years as a field paramedic or five years as an EMS or Clinical Emergency Care doctor or nurse
- Instructional Education
- Previous training in disciplines of adult learning theory, adult education, and instructional technology
- Training Experience
- Previous training experience in EMS/prehospital care personnel training, preferably at the ALS level
- Medical Dispatching
- Previous work with medical dispatching and communication centre operations or willing to obtain
- Be able to work an 8 hour day, 5 day a week roster to meet the demands of training on request. Availability to work rotating rostered hours within a 24 hour, 7 day a week shift pattern to perform training where necessary
- Demonstrated ability to multi task, prioritise and problem solve with a strong customer focus
- The successful applicant must satisfy the National Police Records Check standard that includes fingerprinting

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Learning Management System and associated reporting software
