Substitute Teacher Pay for Scott Elementary: (set by district)

High School Degree or GED – $90 per day

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher – $100 per day

OVERVIEW: An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed. As a substitute teacher, you’ll become an integral part of a school’s educational team, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement the regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to the school administration.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Evaluate and grade student’s class work, assignments, and papers.
• Supervise student’s fieldwork, internship, and research work.
• Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the school administration
• Other duties as assigned or as become evident.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in on and one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Arkansas Background Check and a DHS Child Maltreatment Central Registry Check are both required. ESS offers a reimbursement program for background check related fees.
