ERP Staffing, Inc Hiring for Lead Mechanical Engineer Full Time

ERP Staffing is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join the MEP | FP engineering team. This position will provide the opportunity to work on the design of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and energy recovery/energy efficiency systems for buildings and requires a broad technical background in mechanical engineering.

The position’s responsibilities are focused on the design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This position will require a self-starter that can independently provide technical leadership and create construction drawings, specifications, and existing system studies. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical and plumbing engineering issues to develop effective working relationships. A qualified applicant must be able to work on multiple projects while balancing efforts to effectively deliver documents to meet fast passed deadlines while adhering to budgetary constraints. Some regional travel required.

Tasks

• Executes required aspects of mechanical engineering based on a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts
• Performs heating and cooling load calculations with industry software and select and schedule equipment
• Responsible for drawing setup and design documentation
• Responsible for production of construction documents from initial design to bidding
• Provides an Energy Code Compliant Design
• Performs and reviews construction cost estimating
• Evaluates Value Engineering
• Provide construction support including; bid evaluation, submittal reviews, responding to RFI’s, final walkthroughs, punch lists and developing As-Built record drawings
• Leads projects and multi-disciplinary tasks. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of the project team comprised of engineers, technicians, and subconsultants.
• Provides leadership and facilitates technical and management collaboration amongst project team members, stakeholders, and the client. Communicates and works with the client on a variety of issues including: progress and status s, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Tracks the progress of deliverables, client reviews, technical input, and comment resolution.
• Participates in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
• Monitors project schedules regularly to determine any delays or deviations.
• Monitors fees and budgets; proactively problems to the appropriate Department and Division Managers.
• Manages work load and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours

Skills + Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited university is mandatory
• 7+ years of experience
• Professional Engineer License in IL and/or WI is mandatory with the ability to submit for reciprocity
• LEED certification is preferred
• Thorough understanding of Current Codes and Standards: NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, ANSI 90.1
• Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong AutoCAD experience
• Microsoft Office
• Revit experience is a plus
• Trane Trace experience is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $56,320.43 – $127,561.90 per year
