The successful candidate’s main responsibility will be verification of FPGA and/or ASIC designs for new multi-standard radio base station products for 5G, LTE, W-CDMA, and GSM networks. The position may also involve modeling, RTL design, in-system lab brings up and testing, and other typical aspects of FPGA and/or ASIC development. The Ottawa team works very closely with other Radio development teams located in Sweden and China.
You will:
Define verification requirements and strategies for FPGA and/or ASIC designs, based on functional specifications, and following Ericsson development processes.
Implement verification environments and test cases to execute on verification plans.
Measure functional and code coverage metrics, and drive towards completion targets.
Debug RTL in conjunction with designers.
Collaborate with Hardware/Software/Systems/Integration Radio development teams, to understand overall product requirements and drive efficient solutions.
Perform hands-on integration and verification in a lab environment when needed.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of products, tools, and processes
To be successful in the role you must have:
2 years of experience in FPGA/ASIC Verification, with an ambition to develop a career in this specialization. Recent graduates with relevant internship and project experience may also be considered.
Knowledge of System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL, and RTL design.
Experience in functional simulation using modern verification techniques such as UVM/OVM and Assertion Based Verification.
Familiarity with modern FPGA device families and tools, and RTL simulation in particular.
Skills in using scripting languages and tools (TCL, Python, Perl, Make).
Extreme attention to detail.
An analytical approach and be results oriented with the ability to deliver under pressure.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
High self-motivation, an ability to work independently, while being a great teammate.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent, with demonstrated knowledge and interest in the above-mentioned required skills areas.
You might also have:
Knowledge of wireless systems.
Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing, DSP modeling, and hardware realizations.
Mathematical analysis experience using Matlab or similar.
Object Oriented Programming experience.
