Our Exciting Opportunity

Our Ottawa, Canada organization is looking for experienced software developers for our Baseband teams. This senior level development role consists of crafting, implementing, and integrating software functionality for Ericsson’s wireless products. Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We coordinate in multi-functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and collaborative sharing is part of the daily work.

You will:
Work within a real-time embedded software development environment on a multi-core target

Develop a deep understanding of the baseband domain, architecture and design principles

Analyze software implementations against architectural and functional requirements

Convert product requirements into structured user stories, and work estimates

Study and contribute to feature and implementation proposals

Develop high quality software and implement new functionalities in C

Develop efficient automated test cases to protect functionality from degradation

Analyze system verification results, and troubleshoot complex bug reports

Investigate and integrate sophisticated pieces of software with hardware

Technically and constructively help to drive the team forward

Contribute and support your team in learning new areas

Become an authority within the team

Guide & coach junior developers

To be successful in the role you must have

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent

Working knowledge of 5G wireless communication protocols and their 3GPP specifications

Proficient skills in C programming

Implemented software on real time embedded systems

Excellent communication in verbal and written English

A mindset for quality, efficiency, and results oriented professionalism

Be willing to tackle areas outside of your comfort zone

Demonstrated a proficiency in critical thinking and lateral problem solving

An ability to respond to change and rapidly pivot to meet evolving project needs

Have a working knowledge of both integration and verification methods & tools

Comfort discussing wireless communication theory

You may also have:
Developed scheduling layer software for a wireless standard – E.g. NR, LTE, WCDMA, WiMAX

Programmed digital signal processor functions

Familiarity with wireless test technology and network protocol analyzers
