Wanted – a creative and experienced Python Developer to help us modernize a computationally intensive VBA and MySQL environment. The ideal candidate will reside in MA, RI or CT, be familiar with financial data and be willing to offer his or her own perspective on the best and most efficient approach to mapping and executing the project.
Equity Risk Sciences (ERS) is a big-data predictive analytics company performing investment risk research. We have spent several years developing technology to measure the risk and probability of a company’s stock price rising or falling. Currently, ERS is raising capital to support its long-term growth trajectory.
Responsibilities:

• Evaluating, rewriting and improving ERS’s existing software applications
• Writing scalable code using Python programming language
• Testing and debug programs
• Develop technical documents to accurately represent application design and code

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
• Must have prior experience as a Python developer
• Familiarity with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Familiarity with MySQL
• Good problem-solving skills

Part-time. Excellent pay and flexible hours.
Remote work possible, but we strongly prefer candidates who can meet us face-to-face in our Rhode Island office at least once or twice a month.
