We have recently moved into a flexible hybrid working pattern, with 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Job description

Working in one of our agile sprint teams at our head office in central London, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for design and development of new features in our range of cloud services and shrink-wrap software products in an agile environment, using primarily C# and web-based frameworks.

The role provides excellent opportunities for learning about a wide range of technologies, from building cloud products on Azure, Windows applications (client-server), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and NAV, and other application integrations. We also keep abreast of new technologies that continuously improve our skills and processes, through personal learning and regular team training sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software of good quality and robustness.
• Help in the definition of requirements and the planning of schedules for projects.
• Advise and consult members of other departments as necessary regarding product developments, changes or enhancements.
• Maintain existing software.
• Work with Technical Support to troubleshoot customer problems.
• Provide assistance to colleagues as necessary and share relevant knowledge.
• Keep skills and awareness up to date in relevant technologies.

Required skills/experience

• Excellent programming skills in one or more of the following: C#, C++ or similar object-oriented language, JavaScript/HTML/TypeScript
• Knowledge and ability to implement work using modern techniques such as SOLID
• Willing to work with and adapt to other programming languages outside of your primary language from time to time
• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems efficiently and with good attention to detail, with a can-do attitude
• University degree in Computer Science or another technical subject, or other relevant training.
• Experience working with commercially released software
• Ability to learn quickly and contribute to team success
• A good understanding of the full development lifecycle and ability to contribute at all stages
• Fluent written and spoken English

Desired skills/experience

• Good knowledge of one or more of the following: .NET 5+, CSS, C/AL, AL, C, C++, ASP .NET
• Experience with the following frameworks: AngularJS, Angular, Bootstrap, BreezeJS, Entity Framework, Unity (DI)
• Experience with the following tools: Xamarin, Azure DevOps, Git source control, PowerShell, Visual Studio, InstallShield, Microsoft Azure (including Service Bus, App Services, Azure Resource Manager, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Application Insights)
• Experience working in an agile environment using Scrum
• Experience with unit testing/test driven development and a willingness to drive up adoption of software quality practices
• An interest in DevOps processes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
