EQUANS ANZ Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Melbourne Full Time

An opportunity now exists for an Assistant Accountant to provide accounting support to the business through reporting, participate in budgeting and forecasting processes and support decision making and the achievement of strategic outcomes.

This role will be preferrable based out of Fairfield, however open to being based in Hallam for the right candidate.

Role overview:

• Responsible for ensuring transactional accounting activities, month end close activities including project profit recognition, month-end close journals, inter-company recharges are completed on timely basis.
• Work with the accounting team to deliver accurate monthly financial reporting, periodic financial KPI reporting per set timelines.
• Provide transactional accounting support to the Business Unit general administration and service support teams.
• Complete all reconciliations as per agreed timetable and to a high standard, with any issues escalated to senior Finance Management.
• Assist and support Finance team in annual budgeting and planning process.
• Assist in completing monthly reporting pack with detailed commentary including variance analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of company profit & loss report.
• Assist with the implementation of internal control initiatives and work with Business Units to ensure alignment to Assist Accounts department with AP invoice entry & debt collections.
• Provide back support to Reception & the Administration team.
• Evaluate and identify opportunities to improve transactional finance processes and support finance process improvement initiatives.
• Completion of monthly BAS returns.
• Assist in completion of annual FBT returns for entities within EQUANS Services Australia and New Zealand group.

Qualifications

Required to be successful:

• Professional qualification through Chartered Accountants ANZ or CPA Australia or other recognised professional accounting body or working towards.
• Ability to drill into large amounts of data to extract meaningful insights for business improvement, analyse core issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex analysis to various management level
• Strong skills in Excel as well as basic database capabilities, as well as experience with EXO, GP, or PRONTO ERP.
• Extensive experience in a similar role within the building services and facility management industry is desirable
