We’re currently recruiting for:

• Hair and Beauty Tutor for Year 12 student
• Experience working with students with SEMH needs (learning delay and social anxiety)
• Available 6 hours per week (across 2-3 days)
• In-person tuition ONLY
• Teaching qualification REQUIRED
• Location in and around Bath
• Available from September

Who is Equal Education?

Equal Education is a social enterprise committed to closing the inequality gap in education between vulnerable groups of students and their peers.

Equal Education provides supplementary and alternative provision (in-person and online). We have worked with 1200+ students, providing more than 50,000 hours of tuition to children, working with 50+ Local Authorities across England.

In light of the widening of the attainment gap due to covid-19, we wrote a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Education outlining the need for a National Tutoring Programme, which was subsequently announced by the government on 19th June 2020.

Skills and Experience:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status or alternative teaching qualification)

• Experience with counselling and/or mentoring

• Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEND

• Creative and tenacious teachers equipped to deal with students who may have disengaged from mainstream schooling

• Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions

• Valid Enhanced DBS check

• Excellent written communication, timekeeping, reliability, and timely reporting
