The Flow Assurance Engineer will provide flow assurance support across a range of oil and gas projects. The Flow Assurance Engineer will have demonstrated knowledge of applied flow assurance including the definition of steady state and transient behavior in multiphase flow systems and will be expected to manage studies related to hydrates, asphaltenes, wax, scale, and corrosion inhibition. Of key importance is the understanding of transport properties, fluid physical property generation and tuning against experimental data to perform accurate predictions. Strong understanding of production and export systems, operating philosophies and reservoir behavior is preferred. The Flow Assurance Engineer will in most instances work embedded in a multidisciplinary project environment where communication with other discipline engineers is key to project success. However, independent support might be required from the role within the advisory space.

Responsibility:

• Follow project management instructions to ensure completion of project is in accordance with project requirements, relevant laws, regulations, and codes.
• Develops and analyses engineering solutions to specific job requirements. Performs relevant steady state and transient analysis to support system engineering and operability of the asset.
• Reviews and checks deliverables and ensure quality is in line with Genesis’ standards.
• Prepares and checks calculations, where necessary.
• Support operability of the asset based on PVT data.
• Provide thermos-hydraulic support to other disciplines for consistent design.
• Support a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders in flow assurance related topics.
• Support a personnel development path and training needs.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree qualified, Master of Science (PhD preferred)
• Good understanding of fluid dynamics and fluid characterization
• Understanding of key flow assurance related issues; hydrate, wax, scale, corrosion, asphaltene, liquid management
• Competency with all flow assurance modeling tools including Olga, PVTSim and Pipesim is a must
• Basic understanding of process engineering is preferred.
• Basic understanding of subsea systems and its interfaces with facilities and subsurface engineering
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within E&P Industry with emphasis in the area of flow assurance, in the deepwater subsea environment or offshore and onshore flow assurance.
• Strong written and communicational skills are essential.
• Should have demonstrated self-initiative and leadership on projects.
• Should be able to perform most of the flow assurance activities without much supervision.
• PE license is a plus
