ENGINEERING MANAGER

Engineering Manufacturing Technologies (“EMT”) is a metal component manufacturer located near Binghamton, NY. Our manufacturing facility is over 130,000 sq. ft. and we employ over 150 personnel. EMT has been in business for over 75 years and our manufacturing processes include Punch Press Stampings, Sheet Metal Fabrications, CNC Machining & Turned parts and Assembly & Fulfillment. EMT is known as a leader in our industry and our manufacturing facility houses the “most state of the art” equipment. Our continued growth in the automotive, aerospace, commercial/industrial, DOD, firearm, and pharmaceutical industries requires EMT to hire an experienced Engineering Manager.

The person that we hire will provide value added technical expertise in engineering subject and project leadership and help drive our company in achieving our growth and expansion plans. We are looking for an aggressive self-starter who has the ability and drive to:

• Plan and direct all aspects of engineering activities (includes both process and development efforts) and continuous improvement efforts for production efficiency within the organization.
• Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the company’s established policies and objectives.
• Utilize and implement best practice engineering methods by providing expert technical guidance for engineering and quality initiatives.
• When needed, play an active (hands–on) part in the development, progress, and completion of a project.
• Work with the engineering team to set goals, plan projects, create project timelines, that stay on schedule and within budget.
• Incorporate components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective solutions and meets quality targets.
• Oversee the Tool Room Department.
• Direct/assist in all phases of production validation to production release.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and top management.
• Create, develop, and implement ways to improve cost and efficiency.
• Maintain, follow, and challenge established engineering procedures for improvement.
• Train engineering personnel in new and required areas of importance. In addition, maintain onboarding training content for Engineering personnel.
• Assess and manage engineering personnel capabilities for maximum effectiveness. Align personnel capabilities with department needs, while training personnel to broaden and specialize skills where required

Minimum Requirements of the position are:

• Five (5) or more years of experience in the tool and die industry.
• Ten (10) or more years of experience in management.
• Bachelor Degree in Design and/or Mechanical Engineering; Master Degree a plus.
• Up to date knowledge of the industry.
• Experience in using CAD-CAM software: SolidWorks/Auto CAD/Mastercam
• Excellent organization and analytical skills along with demonstrating a strong work ethic and superior technical abilities.
• Demonstrate achieved or exceeded annual revenue goals.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels in the organization.
