Are you interested in becoming a Director of Hydrocarbon Industries at Emerson? Based in Marshalltown, IA, you will lead all aspects of immediate to long-term global sales strategies that protect, grow, and diversify existing and potential business opportunities ahead of market trends! These strategies will include technical and commercial differentiation to drive our premium position in the market. This role is part of the Global Industry Sales management team responsible for developing Industry Managers, Business Development Managers and Sales Engineers!

As An Industry Director, You Will

• Set strategic direction for our Emerson Impact Partners and Global Sales channel to drive growth in the Hydrocarbon industry segments.
• Develop overall global Hydrocarbon industry plans including all kinds of business (projects, day to day, MRO, parts) driving key initiatives while tracking measurable goals
• Create targeted industry growth programs and strategies to increase market share.
• Analyze competitive strengths/weaknesses and market pricing as it impacts the focused industries.
• Leverage global network and apply influence management to increase world area sales focus on Hydrocarbon industries
• Handle all price management within the focused industries to improve operating profit while growing sales.
• Identify and investigate emerging market segments for focused industry segments and develop strategies to penetrate those markets.
• Review commercial terms and conditions for contracts and align on acceptable business risks – gain alignment from GIS Senior Director and Sales VP
• Lead project pursuit strategy. Coordinate efforts across multiple world areas for international projects. Lead discounting discussions with executive leadership.
• Develop and work career development plans with direct s (industry managers, valve technical specialists, business development managers and sales engineers)
• Establish technical / product plans in conjunction with the field sales teams for the major target accounts and lead team reviews / updates of account plans based on changing market/customer conditions / competitive activity.
• Work with Industry Manager to develop plans to commercialize new product development (NPD) launches.
• Collaborate with peer directors to drive best practices across the Global Industry Sales teams (onboarding, training, project pursuit, competitive displacement, process improvement, etc).
• Identify hydrocarbon strategic accounts and build coverage plan to grow and maintain relationships with key decision makers at those accounts.
• Develop commercial and technical strategies in line with customers to win at the highest rate and premium possible.
• Communicate requirements to the internal organization to align with customer requirements.
• Incorporate results of industry market and other research and inputs from technology sources to assure Fisher designs and products can be specified or migrated by Industry equipment providers, automation integrators and target customers.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience is required
• 8+ years of proven technical experience and/or account management
• Proven track record of effective and empathetic communication with customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport.
