Salary: 76K GBP

Associate/Project Lead – Data Centres – The Role

As part of this global consultant’s strategic growth plans, a unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically talented Associate / Project Lead – Data Centres with a proven background in MEP Building services Design for data centre / critical systems (mission critical) projects, to join an industry leading global MEP Design team in my clients vibrant Newcastle office. It would also be open to someone wanting to be Edinburgh or Leeds based.

This is a Project Lead role and project size may vary from small to large wherein you will be leading either Team Leads or direct multidisciplinary team members which includes Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Architects. You will be reporting direct to the Project Director.

A highly client facing role wherein you will represent the Mechanical discipline and other disciplines with the client. Heavy on design team meetings with client and internal teams as well as site visits would be your normal day to day responsibilities.

The client are willing to grow people into becoming a Data Centre professional and experience in design within any mission critical environment – healthcare, aviation, DC, manufacturing (processing facilities), science (advance research facilities) are welcome.

Open to remote working a couple of days a week and employees may apply for flexible working.

Associate/Project Lead – Data Centres – The Responsibility

Along with the above-mentioned skills and experience, a relevant Mechanical degree and a Chartered professional or able to quickly become Chartered is essential. Additionally:

• You will come from a building services design background within engineering consultancies. This is not an installation focused role.
• Superb client-facing and client management skills
• Experience in design within any mission critical environment such as healthcare, aviation, DC, manufacturing or processing facilities, science or advance research facilities are preferred
• Strong Mechanical design experience within DC is advantageous
