Emsi Burning Glass is seeking an International Accountant to lead and build out our growing international accounting functions. In this highly visible role, you will get the chance to collaborate with our international colleagues around the globe to build out our accounting processes and ensure inter-company transactions are properly accounted for to support the company’s financial statements. This role reports to the Assistant Controller and works closely with all levels of the accounting team and key external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Managing monthly and quarterly close processes for all international subsidiaries
• Performing monthly reporting package, reconciliation of all intercompany balances and elimination entries
• Driving and managing monthly global consolidations in a timely, accurate and complete manner
• Ensuring that the Company’s international subsidiaries are operating within a SOX-compliant control framework, including detail review of journal entries and vendor payments
• Establishing and maintaining procedures related to revaluation of foreign currency balances, non-USD currency translation and related adjustment
• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement flux analysis
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of the international operations and effectively communicate updates and results
• Ensuring that intercompany transactions are consistent with executed agreements, meet the requirements of the Company’s business and tax planning strategies, and are properly documented and entered onto each entity’s monthly accounting records
• Working with Company’s external accounting partners to ensure compliance with local financial reporting requirements, corporate indirect tax filings and statutory audits

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of accounting experience with significance experience in financial consolidations and FX accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience overseeing International subsidiaries
• Experience in managing local accounting firms and statutory auditors
• SOX implementation and maintenance experience
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Extensive experience with NetSuite ERP, Bill.com and Avalara AvaTax is a major plus
