Senior Human Resources Coordinator

  $120-130K base + super

• South-East Brisbane office role

Our client is a leading civil company and has been in operation for over 40+ years with a key focus on developing Queensland transport infrastructure. They are currently seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate HR functions for the group reporting to the HR Manager. You will have 7-10+ years of experience and have excellent attention to detail.

You will have tertiary qualifications in HR or its equivalent with ideally some experience working for a construction company. You will be able to display excellent communication skills and have a team-oriented approach.

Primary responsibilities:

• Document control, employee onboarding & inductions
• Maintaining data management systems & processes
• Recruitment & interviewing of staff
• Candidate short-listing
• Working with panel suppliers
• Assist managers with employee issues
• Conducting workplace investigations, managing grievances, claims and other disciplinary matters of varying complexity
• Support all stages of the employee life cycle process
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and legislation relevant to the jurisdiction
• General reporting, including leave management, exit interviews turnover and identifying areas of improvement
• Assist with industrial relations matters, including enterprise agreement bargaining and market analysis

What you’ll bring:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources
• Previous construction experience will be advantageous
• 1-2 years experience in industrial relations and an understanding of current legislation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Working knowledge of employment practices and legislation is essential
• Minimum 7+ years’ work experience in a similar HR generalist role, and preferably have experience in a Civil Construction / engineering environment
