Eminox Group Hiring for Software Engineer Job at Gainsborough, England Full Time

The Controls team at Eminox develop and deliver embedded electronic systems to exceed customer expectations. These systems range from complete aftertreatment systems to telematics and cloud based IOT solutions (big data). The department also embeds elements of new technology and research projects using scrum and agile methods.

As a Software Engineer you will be using Agile methodology to develop, improve and maintain a suite of software tools to compliment the control engineering products.

The role would suit an enthusiastic individual who is looking to take control of their workload and lead software development projects at Eminox. You would be a proficient software engineer who is self-driven to define and deliver excellent solutions. Having previous experience of the full software development cycle and working on front-end UI along with back-end database access and processing. An interest in the automotive/marine industry, big data and telemetry would be beneficial.

About the role

• Define the complete software architecture of new products and tools.
• Breaking software projects down into components and sub-components to support Agile development.
• Develop slick user interfaces to delight our customers.
• Implement software
• Creating unit and regression tests for key areas of the software.
• technical design decisions for the products

About you;

• Can propose technologies and solutions from top level customer requirements
• Is familiar with all phases of software development; from requirements gathering and design through to build, deployment, and support
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OO design)
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Excellent and determined problem solver, with solid organisation skills: handle multiple projects and manage time effectively and possesses clear and Effective communication and presentation skills

Technical skills – Must have

• Java programming experience especially for windows 10 applications.
• Defining and accessing databases such as mySQL.
• GIT version control and experience of software project tracking tools such as Jira.
• Excellent and determined problem solver, with solid organisation skills: handle multiple projects and manage time effectively.

·Comfortable with remote working

Desirable technical skills

• Experience with big data projects.
• Experience with a scripting language such as Matlab or Python.
• Experience with AWS
