Emile Learning Hiring for High School Single Subject Curriculum Writer – AP Art History Job at Remote Full Time

Who We Are:

Emile Learning is an on-demand virtual teaching platform focused on high school classes. Founded in 2020, Emile’s mission is to provide students globally with equal access to for-credit and supplemental high school courses in a virtual environment. Emile is looking to disrupt the typical classroom experience and build a new age of learning. Our teachers play an important role in our students’ experience by serving as their main point of contact.

Primary Purpose:

This role will be instrumental in helping Emile students progress through this course on our online platform. You will be expected to bring your expertise to outline lectures and lab demonstrations through curriculum alignment. You will thoroughly outline short lectures, including relevant examples and definitions a student will need to deeply understand the course material. These lesson plans will be used by our production team to film video content, but this role is strictly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• course format and structure;
• standards bodies, learning goals, and required course materials and resources;
• prerequisites that students may require for the target course;
• desired student experience for the course and overall pedagogy;
• course units, topics, and lessons; and
• assessment (traditional and performance-based tasks) and projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, Master’s degree preferred OR
• Single Subject Teaching Credential in specific course
• Strong social science skills (specialization or certification in U.S. History preferred; College Board training in AP U.S. History preferred)
• Teaching or tutoring experience in specific course
• AP curriculum design and development
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Proficient in Google Apps and modern business tools, communication tools, presentation tools for virtual teams (Zoom, Google Meet).
