The Technical Applications Administrator will be responsible for all administrative tasks involved with client-server and web-based applications for the Corporate business unit. This individual is also the primary source for development, testing, technical product support, installation of new software releases to customers and post-implementation technical support.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Application support and administration may include supporting roles for user setups, configuration updates and changes along with technical support on templates working with the functional administrators.
  • Responsible for business analysis, requirements gathering and technical design for all improvements, enhancements and any new initiatives.
  • Provides high quality service, with a focus professional interaction with all customers, contractors, and vendors, both internal and external to Emerson.
  • Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve existing technology, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective.
  • Provides Business Analysis for all improvements and any new initiatives in development
  • Must be able to interact professionally with all clients, contractors and vendors, both internal to Emerson and external.

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related area required
  • Fluent in English

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • 2-3 years of related experience in development and implementation projects
  • Programming expertise (1-2 years) with MS Excel, VB.NET, C#
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Experience with data conversion and data extracts (import/export) from/to SQL Server
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, including Intel based desktops, laptops, and servers.
  • Knowledge of Financial, Human Resource and/or Legal applications
  • General knowledge of Windows-based applications, and database servers that power them.
  • Must be able to multitask, evaluate high priorities and deliver quality performance under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new products and technologies
  • Experience with Staged deployments – Dev, Stage, Q/A, Production environments
  • Knowledge of various tools:
    • MS Access Office 365, including programming with Visual Basic for Applications
    • SQL Server 2012/2016, including T-SQL scripting
    • ASP.NET or C#.NET and Java Script
    • Web server management – IIS 2012/2016
