If you are an Embedded Software Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will develop embedded software for flow meter electronics.

AS AN EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
  • Develop specialized software to meet unique customer requirements not covered with standard products.
  • Investigate issues reported from customers to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Document high- and low-level designs.
  • Clarify software requirements for product definitions and write Software Requirements Specifications.
  • Utilize requirements management tool to trace requirements back to marketing level requirements.
  • Use configuration management tool (i.e. PVCS) to version control source code and documentation.
  • Comply with software coding standards.
  • Develop primarily in C, C++ with some assembly.
  • Lead software project team efforts including planning, scheduling and technical execution.

WHO YOU ARE:
You are self-motivated to lead technical tasks and take increasing levels of responsibility. You are able to collaboratively work with other software and electronics team members. You have the ability to independently complete assigned projects and meet project schedule requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of five (5) years experience in embedded software development.
  • Solid upfront design skills coupled with a process mindset for quality (design reviews, coding standards, etc.)
  • Solid written and spoken communication skills
  • Proven track record participating on completed software projects
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methods and tools (Object Oriented Design, UML, debuggers, emulators, oscilloscopes, etc.) and TCP/IP stacks and security protocols/methods extremely helpful

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $76,700 – $122,700 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
