About the role…
As a Lead PHP Software Engineer at ELMO, you will be part of a creative, cross-functional team that plays a key role in the development process. You will guide and help lead the design and development of our technical solutions.
As our Lead Software Engineer, we would like to see someone who can take charge in the technical direction and in actively reviewing code, as well as deliver well-designed technical solutions in clean and maintainable code.
What your day to day will look like:

• We are Agile advocates: you will be responsible for developing and deploying new features that deliver customer value in a cross-functional team, working closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, DevOps and Engineering Managers
• You will examine, review, design and deliver well-designed technical solutions in a clean and maintainable way
• Reporting to the Engineering Manager and the Head of Development, you will lead a development team that works primarily on PHP/Javascript
• You will be the technical lead of the Software Engineers, bringing your team’s skills to the next level
• You will contribute to our engineering culture engaging in technical discussion and following industry best practices

What we would like to see you bring to the team:

• Knowledge of PHP and MVC frameworks (Symfony, Laravel)
• Experience in an Agile environment
• AWS: Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3
• Experienced dealing with legacy codebase or moving to microservices
• Experienced with implementing unit tests with automation
• Experienced taking initiative into best practices solutions (SOLID, testing, automation, etc.) and coming up with a plan, managing stakeholders expectations.
• Experience with planning technical initiatives and mentoring junior developers
