Ellis Medicine Hiring for Nurse Recruiter Job at Remote Full Time

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position, which can be based at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, hybrid, or fully remote, exists to design, develop, and administer innovative nurse recruitment services, which support dynamic patient care services. Serves in a leadership capacity and as a member of a team in the continual improvement of nurse recruitment processes. Consults and guides nursing management regarding resource planning, interviewing, hiring, and retention of a highly skilled, diverse, professional nursing staff. Markets Ellis Medicine to external organizations and individuals in an effort to recruit qualified applicants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master’s degree preferred. 5-10 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

Vaccinations: Full COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required.

Experience: Requires an active New York State Nursing License and minimum of three years of nursing experience. Membership in professional nursing/healthcare organizations (i.e. AACN, ENA, AORN, AONE, NYONEL, etc.) a plus. Demonstrated successful experience in the design, development and administration of nurse recruitment and retention programs. Incumbent will have knowledge of relevant employment legislation. Effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. A working knowledge and proficiency in various computer systems and software applications essential. This position requires that the incumbent have the ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership and influence management in nurse recruitment/employer matters in the continual improvement of work processes. Additionally, the Nurse Recruiter will need to work independently and start-up new programs and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Designs, develops, and implements nurse recruitment initiatives which impact the entire organization including internal and external marketing plans, the candidate recruitment process and career counseling.
• Works in conjunction with Marketing to develop advertisements and marketing materials.
• Plans, coordinates and presents at recruitment events both internally and externally, including college visits to Schools of Nursing.
• Maintains effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates
• Builds a pipeline of candidates for nursing positions. Includes pre-screening the candidate for experience and area of specialty if applicable.
• Follows applicants through the hire process from screening, manager feedback, reference, and wage offer to date of hire.
• Keeps factual documentation on applicants through initial screening and communicates disposition after interview. Insures qualifications of applicants through licensing boards and immigration authorities.
• Examines job postings to ensure accuracy with collective bargaining agreement and job offers.
• Assists in developing and providing manager training related to the recruitment and retention of Nurses and similar patient care positions.
• Identifies the financial impact of new and current policy applications and nurse recruitment programs.
• Communicates effectively with key stakeholders on nursing project goals, tactics and timeliness. Maintains hiring metrics.
