What Does a Sales Engineer do?

• Collaborate with other departments to execute the company’s Engineering and Sales Support strategy, providing technical support to sell engineered fastening solutions into the energy, automotive, agriculture, capital goods, and transportation industries.

• Provide technical support solutions to customers through various channels, including Regional Sales and Key Account Managers, Third Party Sales Agents, Distributors, Wholesalers, and OEMs. Conduct necessary engineering calculations to support product selection and recommendation. Analyze data and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner while offering alternative solutions.

• Manage project and product development from scoping to execution and optimization of customer processes, ing progress to the customer care organization. Handle new business opportunities involving quoting, product specifications, building bill of materials, determining equipment needs, and estimating costs and customer schedules. Perform these duties at all EFG facilities and assist Quality with APQP process, FMEA studies, and control plans. Manage the engineering change process.

• Work closely with engineers, estimators, and other EFG team members to compile offers that meet the customer’s requirements and EFG’s profit goals. Track ongoing projects and convert them into orders that align with EFG’s financial objectives.

Job Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering is preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years within a manufacturing environment.
• Two years minimum experience utilizing ERP systems.
• Excellent computer skills which include MS Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is required.
• Fastener knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Fluent and well-spoken in English with excellent technical writing skills.
