The role

As a financial accountant, you will join our Financial Control team where you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a varied role. This role is available on a 8 month fixed term contract. Your key responsibilities will include, (but are not limited to):

What will you do?

• Internal month end processes including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with audit requirements and liaison with external auditors and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Assist with preparation of tax submissions & associated reconciliations, and management of tax payments;
• Take a key role in initiatives to improve & automate processes and drive efficiencies.
• Assist with improvements to, and documentation of, the key controls and systems within the key transaction streams, ensuring best practice.
• Assisting with research and analysis of technical accounting matters to implement best practice accounting policies and procedures.

What’s in your toolkit?

• CA/CPA qualified from the Big-4 or mid-tier.
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting.
• A knowledge of international/Australian accounting standards.
• A knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts and practices.
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills with an ability to identify problems, causes and areas of improvement.
• Strong, time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, including a sense of attention to detail while managing multiple competing demands.
• The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Strong understanding of internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with SAP (or other ERP) and PowerBI is advantageous.
