Person specification:

• Will have started an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
• Strong IT capabilities, detailed knowledge of the main Microsoft applications including excellent excel knowledge (lookups, pivot tables, formulae etc)
• Experience of organisation, reconciliation and analysis of large volumes of data
• Possess knowledge of management and financial accounting principles and be well-versed in approaches and techniques
• Highly numerate, intellectually strong and capable of digesting and interpreting technical information
• Excellent technical, analytical and reporting skills
• Rigorous, methodical and well organised with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to identify risks/issues promptly and escalate effectively
• Excellent communicator with the ability to influence others to ensure the best outcome is obtained for all parties both within finance, and outside finance, cross-functionally
• Ability to manage their own workload to ensure that activities are correctly prioritised and that all interested parties are aware of responsibilities, deadlines and progress
• Approachable with the ability to coach and support team members and the wider business

Key duties and responsibilities:

• To provide clear and open communication at all levels, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of issues to the relevant parties in the business
• To identify and make recommendations or implement opportunities to streamline and automate processes
• To ensure proper prioritisation of all activities to ensure they are completed to required deadlines
• Co-ordination of month end processes and timetable working with suppliers of information to ensure deadlines are met
• Reporting, analysis and explanation of performance against Plan and Forecasts, ensuring explanations and supporting analysis is

accurate and controlled and that any interlinked variances are consistent. Highlighting any issues impacting on cashflow

• Reporting & analysis of margin performance, liaising with the Treasury team to ensure funding is drawn and recorded correctly
• Oversight of divisional costs ensuring a thorough understanding of the allocations included
• Ensuring all accounts are reconciled and reviewed on a regular basis (in line with the agreed schedule)
• Understanding what support the divisional teams require to enable them to truly own and lead their section of the divisional finances, providing training and education where appropriate
