Elevated Adolescence Hiring for CAMP DIRECTOR Job at Golden, CO Full Time

We are looking for a Camp Site Director who is:

• comfortable collaborating with and taking direction from Founder, Ashley Chandler, and co-managing Camp Coordinator
• takes on the personal responsibility to set a positive, nurturing, engaging tone for the group
• strong ability to plan, facilitate, lead 25+ campers, and improvise based on the needs of the group

We are looking to hire a Camp Site Director who is a teacher, counselor, or teacher/counselor in training (DOE). Our staff to camper ratio means this person will be leading several classes and activities and have an active hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of camp. Consider this an interactive classroom, featuring guest-speakers / presenters, field trips, skill-building, interactive games & team-building, and having a blast!

We’re looking for staff who will sufficiently get to know campers, and support them in building confidence and fostering friendships with peers. The Camp Director will be supreme at building strong relationships in a short amount of time.

We know there is a direct connection between the quality of our staff and the quality of the experience for our campers. This is not a typical summer camp. Our vision is a summer camp-meets growth seminar, and anyone we hire will view it in the same way. The Camp Director will oversee the social/emotional/physical well-being of every camper, along with Founder, Ashley Chandler.

We are determined to bring on the best people we can, and are looking for a person who is eager to give kids the best camp experience of their life thus far. In years past, campers arrive not wanting to be there, and they leave with the words and feelings “This was the BEST CAMP EVER!” This person is an integral piece of this kind of reward, and we are looking for a solid, local fit of someone who would want to join us year after year, if possible.

As a fellow educator, Ashley designed Camp to attract and support teachers/counselors in the summer months. Middle School Prep Camp 2022 is a short-term commitment, including 2 week-long sessions:

• The week of July 18th – July 22nd
• The week of July 25th – July 29th
• Hours are 8:00 – 4:30 pm, M-F

Camp Structure:

• Each day is based at different local Boulder headquarters
• Each day features a different theme, guest speakers, activities
• Campers get their own schedules, rotating to different classes at certain times of the day.
• Camp Director will lead/facilitate (3-4) 15-minute executive function, mindset, or social-emotional classes a day, in addition to camp supervision/facilitation duties

• The curriculum is already designed, but Ashley welcomes collaboration and expertise to make it the best it can be for our campers

Additional Important Details:

• Mandatory training will be conducted between May – June 2022 (exact timing TBD, Ashley is flexible to coordinate with the right hire’s schedule)
