Position Overview:

This is a newly created role to assist EOS Defence Systems business where it is reliant on financial commercial expertise. This will include business in Australia as well as growth and maturity of the business globally.

In this role, you will provide expert advice across financial analysis, planning, management, advice and reporting into the business in line with allocated budgets and associated budget management

Primary Duties:

• Perform commercial costing and pricing activities relating to pre-contract sales/business development/tender activities as well as those financial costing/pricing activities arising during contracts and in-contract growth.
• Prepare project/program budgets, estimations and forecasting including the planning, compiling and analysis of budgets, and collation and review of revised financial forecasts
• Assistance with the provision of relevant and appropriate financial summaries, objectives and frameworks for the business that aid the understanding and development of commercial and risk frameworks for the business across its numerous arrangements with its business partners and suppliers.
• Assistance with any external funding agreements for projects, programs and business opportunities including facilitating the investigation of funding options, development and analysis of business cases, forecasting, scenario analysis, lifecycle costs models and supporting decision making

The successful candidate in this position will be detail oriented who can undertake work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts. We are also looking for candidates who have a proven ability and effective problem solvers, strong communicators and solution oriented with a commitment to deliver results.

• Problem solver with business skills that analyse, design, plan, execute and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets
• Forward thinking, can assess and evaluate risk as well as cost/benefit analysis outcomes
• Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvements
• Demonstrates integrity – adds value by being willing and able to challenge decisions, and deliver information that others may not want to hear that may occur across managing and co-ordinating project/s and disseminating change across finance and non-finance teams

Experience:

• Is a qualified practitioner with relevant higher degree qualifications and relevant Defence industry experience of 5-8 years (or adjacent industry sectors such as infrastructure, mining, construction, aerospace) that have relied on accounting and financial analysis skills
• Experience in ASDEFCON – and familiarity with Complex, Strategic and Simple procurements and contracting – and working with its Life-Cycle Costing (LCC) and project costing models will be an advantage as will familiarity in working with earned value management systems (EVMS) models based on planned and actual values that predict the future whilst enabling/providing the integration of schedule, costs and scope to measure project performance
• Demonstrated past performance of financial management, measurement and reporting at a portfolio level within hybrid matrix and functional organisations
