BOOKKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION
Eldon James is a rapidly growing component manufacturer seeking to hire highly motivated accounting individuals to work in an environment that fosters teamwork, change and continuous improvement. These individuals will share responsibilities for accounts receivable, accounts payable functions, human resources, and payroll. This team will also be responsible for creation of financial statements to ensure that the accounting procedures conform to accounting principles and maintains internal control safeguards.

Duties described below will be divided between the team based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintains the chart of accounts, adding new accounts as necessary.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and make adjusting entries as necessary.
• Analyze cash flow and financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.
• Use internal controls to sort and distribute mail by preparing checks for deposit and monitoring vendor bills and statements.
• Process Accounts Receivables to ensure deposits are posted daily to the correct bank accounts.
• Run international customer credit cards through third party credit card terminal.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging report and place customers on credit hold, setting up credit limits, and collections.
• Process Accounts Payable to ensure bills are being entered daily.
• Post vendor bills in IQMS after checking for correct GL account and viewing backup documentation.
• Track use tax on purchases and file tax returns as necessary.
• Monitor sales tax nexus in states and apply for required license (s) when necessary.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns when due.
• Pay vendor bills in a timely manner to maximize the control of cash and avoid finance charges.
• Transfer funds as necessary into operating account from other bank accounts.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
• Assist Director of Finance in preparing annual budget and provide budget to actual financial statements.
• Record and tag all fixed assets and coordinate annual inventory of fixed assets.
• Record loans on balance sheet and properly record monthly payments using amortization schedule.
• Maintain depreciation schedule and make monthly adjustments entries to financial statements.
• On-boarding of new hires including drug screens and background checks, requesting all necessary forms, setting up the employee file, and entering the new hire into IQMS and into the payroll company software.
• Payroll processing including attendance records, garnishments, and the review of quarterly and annual payroll taxes.

• Maintain employee anniversary date spreadsheet and notify supervisor of 90 day and annual employment anniversary dates.
• Request W-9’s from vendors and annually issue 1099’s.
• Assist in keeping vendor and customer maintenance tabs updated in IQMS
• Assist in the review of insurance plans.
• Inventory management including entering bill of materials, entering new inventory items, assisting in cycle count management and updating sell prices when requested.
• Provide customer service to customers when necessary including providing certificates of insurance when requested.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience as an Accounting Manager.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and control principles including generally accepted accounting principles.
• Competent in IQMS software or capable of learning the software with minimal training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial data, and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Team player who is self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Outgoing personality with a positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
