Primary Responsibilities:
A creative thinker who understands complex business problems and determines system solutions. Must have an accounting, finance, and/or systems background with the ability to configure Hyperion Planning. Configuration includes partnering with IT in the maintenance of various Planning applications. Must work with a high level of independent judgment and initiative, while being able to rapidly take on and assimilate work from existing team members when required.

• Maintain all aspects of metadata (inclusive of chart of accounts, entity/organization structures, custom dimensions, and scenarios), member lists and logic
• Thoroughly test application changes or enhancements for accuracy and completeness.
• Stewardship over all aspect of security: Role provisioning, addition/deletions, reviewing security groups, and performing security audits.
• Partner with business teams to understand requirements of application enhancements. Develop, design, and partner with IT to implement system solutions based on requirements.
• Ability to take a lead role with IT team on marrying systems and accounting principles to achieve desired results.
• Prioritize current business initiatives and communicate reasonable and attainable deadlines.
• Understand data structure, data interfaces, and how data flows from source systems to the consolidation system to the FP&A systems.
• Design, develop, and fastidiously maintain standardized processes and documentation for application support – document work steps necessary to achieve consistent results.
• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
• Internal desire to not accept status quo and instead learn ‘how things work’ and willingness to research complex, problematic, and difficult issues during a chaotic environment
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise

Required Qualifications:

Top 3 Must Haves:

• Financial systems experience (Oracle Hyperion Planning or SmartView)
• Application testing (ex. Validate changes)
• Security Controls (ex. Validate and update security/access controls)

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, information systems, or equivalent experience
• Two or more years of financial systems experience, including Oracle Hyperion Planning, Financial Data Quality Management (FDM), or Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
• Familiarity with GAAP
• Critical thinking, naturally inquisitive, and an independent self-starter
• Advanced Excel skills; Moderate to Advanced Smart View capability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment:

• Eight individuals on the team; would be working directly with a fellow team member
• Must be able to work in groups
• Could be working with up to twenty (20) individuals depending upon needs

Typical Day:  

• Team involvement, even though position is remote.
• Mon-Fri, 8-5; Flexible with start times, however GM hiring manager and contractor will determine what works best.
• Does not participate in the red days (GM Contract Worker Shutdown days).
• This role would work best for a personality that’s able to balance both head down work and teamwork, as the role will interact with and support peer teams who use the financial planning system.

Duration: 8-month W2 contract – Not long term / but could be extended if needed
