About The Role
**Please note that this is a Fixed Working Week vacancy which requires successful candidate to work 38 weeks during term time and the salary will be the pro-rata figure advertised**

As a Student Progression Mentor you will support students in their personal development, enabling them to become independent learners who enjoy and achieve and are able to reach their full potential.

As a Student Progression Mentor your role responsibilities will also include supporting disaffected and disengaged young people to ensure that their learning opportunities are optimised and to undertake settling in and exit interviews.

Holiday payment of £1,732.00 will be paid equally in your twelve monthly salary payments in addition to the advertised salary.
About You

We are seeking to appoint a proactive and motivated Student Progression Mentor to become part of our team.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and someone who is committed to ensuring our students are able to achieve and progress. You must have the ability to deal effectively with students, relevant professions (including external agencies), parents and colleagues, ensuring that all documentation and all contact is reported to the appropriate person / Safeguarding Team.

The role can be challenging and requires the post holder to be empathetic and encouraging whilst providing a supportive and non-judgemental environment, with experience in supporting young people with mental health difficulties being advantageous.

Excellent record keeping is essential for the role and competent computer skills are also required, with a knowledge of Word/ PowerPoint/ Excel/ ProMonitor. You will need to have a flexible approach to your work as the tasks demanded can change from day to day.
