Ekasa Hospitality Hiring for Front Desk Executive at Hamilton, ON Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Balance all revenue from different departments

• Balance all Cash, Debit, and Credit Card transactions

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival

• Attend to guests’ needs, including, but not limited to, registration, checkout, and cashiering

• Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation, address, and credit information

• Promote the Wyndham Rewards Program and provide recognition and benefits to all present members

• Accept payment for guests’ accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout

• Understand and execute all accounting standards ensuring accurate settlement of folios, routing of charges and adjustments

• Maintain a house bank and make a deposit and accurate report of receipts daily.

• Cash checks and exchange currency for guests

• Post miscellaneous charges as requested

• Document all guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately and notify designated department/personnel for resolving the situation

• Follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction

• Generate, print, and distribute daily and weekly reports

• Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping

• Available to work on weekends and holidays

• Empathetically listen to guest inquiries and provide appropriate responses

• Maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information

• Employ attention to detail in order to ensure the security of guest room access.

• Maintain guest history files on all guests

• Generate, print, and distribute daily and weekly reports

• Book reservations for those guests who approach the Front Desk.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities

• High school or equivalent education required

• One to two years in a public contact position

• General knowledge of the city where the hotel is located and its attractions

• Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and its facilities

• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Qualification:

• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone

• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems

• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department

• Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations

• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up

• Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time

• Previous customer service experience

• Previous hotel front desk/ night audit experience is strongly preferred

Role Summary:

Assist guests with late arrivals and inquiries overnight.

Reconcile daily guest reception financials and prepare reports for Accounting and emergency purposes.
