Role & Responsibilities of the Finance Director:

• Full financial management of the business
• Management and development of a finance team of three people (currently)
• Timely preparation of monthly management accounts
• Production of annual and periodic forecasts and budgets
• Identify opportunities and risks to financial performance
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts and ownership of the annual audit
• Management of annual and periodic stocktakes
• Review and approval of customer rebates and discounts
• Ensuring compliance with statutory financial, tax and accounting requirements
• Financial management of four smaller trading companies in the group
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reports
• Managing (in conjunction with the board) all relevant third party relationships, i.e. banks, accountants, external advisors.

About You as the Finance Director

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working at a Financial Controller / Finance Director level
• Conversant with current accounting standards
• Hands on approach, with the ability and desire to delve into detail when required
• Proactive, with a natural inclination for continuous improvement
• Personable and able to build strong working relationships throughout the company
• Confident acting as a key financial and commercial advisor to the board
• Comfortable dealing with banks and external advisors
• Highly competent in the use of Excel – including pivots, look up functions and chart production
• Experience of Sage 200 desirable, but not essential
