EHRA ENGINEERING Hiring for Senior Traffic Engineer Full Time

Job Summary:

This position will function as the task lead on traffic engineering and transportation planning projects for TxDOT, Counties, Cities and Private Clients.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides technical and engineering support, including technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Performs traffic and transportation systems analysis, planning and design. These include Traffic Impact Studies, Corridor Traffic operational studies, Capacity and LOS analysis, Access Management Studies, Traffic Signal, signing, striping, intersection improvements, ITS and traffic control plan design.
• Determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data.
• Responsible for preparing scope, schedule and budget.
• Responsible for mentoring junior project staff.
• Prepare contract documents which include plans, specifications and engineering estimates.
• Responsible for assuring quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness of assigned projects; identify problems and related technical issues leading to long-term, generic solutions; identify technical approach for solving problems and meeting customer/client needs.
• Interact in a collaborative manner with other team members, staff, and clients to accomplish organizational goals; may provide ideas to improve efficiency at group level; network within and beyond own technical peer group.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Must have leadership and organizational skills necessary to lead and manage junior staff.
• Must have experience using SYNCHRO, VISSIM, HCS and similar modeling software
• Experience with CADD software
• Must have the ability to manage projects from preliminary planning through completion.
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
• TxDOT precertification in applicable categories.

Education, certification and experience:

• 5+ or more years’ experience performing projects similar to those listed above with 2 of those years managing projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• PE license in Texas.
• PTOE License preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
