Position Summary

Manage all quality and quality system activities for a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier. The Quality Manager will be a hands-on Manager that is highly involved in the day-to-day activities and decisions of their team. They will play an integral role within the Plant Management Team to ensure compliance with IATF16949:2016 requirements and meet and/or exceed customer expectations pertaining to Quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates the Quality Department, to ensure that all product meets the customer standard of excellence.
• Manage and develop department with regards to manufacturing quality, engineering quality, document control, and ISO9001:2015 / IATF16949:2016 management system.
• Drive continual quality improvement throughout the organization through positive broad-based team activities and team training and development.
• Continually improve relationships and company’s position with Customers and Suppliers through direct interface and strong leadership.
• Primary Quality interface with Customers and Subcontractors.
• Represent customer internally for quality-related issues and corrective actions.
• Manage Quality Team to ensure conformance to customer & manufacturing standards.
• Responsible for quality system audits, incoming inspection, manufacturing process audits, product audits, warehouse and dock audits, inspection/measurement of parts, Advanced Product Parts Quality and Planning (APQP), quality documentation and samples (shipments & masters).
• Responsible for Document Control, lab management/calibration, gage validation (MSA), gage instructions, data collection, QA Auditor, Quality Admin, and Quality Engineer development and records.
• Assign Corrective Actions for customer and manufacturing quality issues.
• Drive continual improvement processes and standards through Quality Engineer and Quality Team
• Must exemplify a positive, respectful and “can do” attitude not only for oneself, but for how it will affect other associates.
• Manage and maintain visual samples, and posting of Quality reports throughout the facility
• Manage PFMEA documentation to drive preventative actions throughout the facility (with APQP and Corrective Actions input).

Required Competencies, Skills and Experience

• Progressive Quality Assurance experience in the automotive industry as well as injection molding and manufacturing
• Experience with ISO9001:2015-IATF16949:2016 Quality Management System, AIAG Core Tools,
• ASQ-CQE or equivalent certification or Quality Engineering
• Blueprint Reading, and or GD&T
• Hands on metrology experience, knowledge of calibration
• Direct experience working with customers
• Excellent oral and written communications skills

Education and Job Experience Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 7-10 year experience with a minimum 5 years managing personnel

• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to sit, stand or stoop for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted
