The Education Training Coordinator identifies training needs and develops a training plan to increase the professional development of staff that results in improved learning outcomes of staff and children.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, coordinate and execute education program goals set forth by the Director of Education.
2. Communicates with Education Managers to identify training needs and maps out a plan to develop teams and individuals.
3. Provides training to Education team to keep abreast of current educational trends.
4. Responsible for designing, coordinating and conducting training program.
5. Secures training venues for scheduled trainings.
6. Coordinates all training materials needed, orders supplies, creates sign in sheets and surveys.
7. Provides a training calendar for each program year that outlines dates, times and locations or yearly trainings.
8. Coordinates with other departments when planning training days.
9. Coordinates with Director of Education/Education Managers/ and Director of Operations on updates to New Staff Training Plan.
10. Coordinates and assists with Staff preservice.
11. Presents trainings to large group audiences.
12. Travel to sites as needed to provide small group trainings to teachers and staff.
13. Works with Curriculum Coordinator to support curriculum and VPK implementation thru specialized training.
14. Researches and coordinates outside trainers that can provide engaging, high quality, trainings to the HS/EHS program.
15. Analyze curriculum data and make recommendations for staff development.
16. Work with Education Manager and Curriculum Coordinator to plan and implement related staff training and presents to large group audiences.
17. Assist the Center Manager and teaching staff, as needed.
18. Assist in the evaluation of classrooms using CLASS, ITERS, ECERS, and other classroom monitoring tools as needed.
19. Attend required workshops and in-service trainings and keep informed of current trends and new professional techniques through participating in professional workshops, conferences and seminars and by reading professional journals and publications, training and workshops/conferences related to early childhood development to increase knowledge of best practices.
20. Advocate on behalf of Episcopal Children’s Services Head Start/ Early Head Start and children and families involved in the program.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
· This position reports to the Director of Education.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education
· A baccalaureate or advanced degree in education that includes ages K through 6, with 15 credit hours in early childhood education courses, and at least 480 hours experience teaching preschool-age children
· A baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field with 45 credit hours in early childhood education courses, with at least 480 hours of early education teaching experience
· CLASS experience required with CLASS certification preferred
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of current practices in early childhood education with an emphasis in teacher-child interactions and using curriculum and assessments to plan and individualize
· Knowledge of ECS Coaching model
· Ability to create and deliver engaging and comprehensive training presentations
· Ability to articulate and model best teaching instructional strategies and practices
· Ability to motivate teachers to high levels of commitment and performance
· Establish a relationship of mutual trust and respect with support staff, site coordinators and teaching staff
· Ability to perform with little direct supervision
· Knowledge of applicable safety and abuse-reporting procedures
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office products at an intermediate to advanced level
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
· Ability to maintain confidential information
· Ability to plan and organize work as well as maintain records, analyze data and prepare reports
· Ability to present in front of large group audiences
LICENSES, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATIONS:
· Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage
· Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy)
· CLASS and TSGold certification in Infant, Toddler & Preschool within 60 days of employment
· By October 2019, must have current First Aid and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.
· Complete a minimum of 15 hours of in-service training annually, July 1- June 30
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· Works in early childhood classroom settings
· Ability to lead large group trainings
· Travel to multiple sites is required
· Some nights and weekends for special events and training may be required
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
· Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
· Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)
· Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
