Position Summary

The Food Preparer is responsible for providing basic food service support in the cafeteria and provides demonstrations of food preparation techniques to students.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

opening and closing the café sales outlet

assisting and guiding students in the preparation of cold and hot entrée items

preparing a variety of cold food items including baked goods

setting up and cleaning food preparation, dining and banquet areas

demonstrating food preparation techniques to students under the direction of the chef

maintaining safety and sanitation standards

operating cash register and point of sale terminal

assisting in the maintenance of inventory

washing and storing dishes, pots and cooking utensils in compliance with Health & Safety guidelines

Education/Qualifications

Red Seal Certification

Food Safety Certification or equivalent, First Aid, WHMIS

one year of food preparation experience

excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills

ability to multi-task

Rate of Pay

$21.09 – $26.50 per hour
