The Role
As a Senior Lecturer within WAAPA, you will be expected to contribute to the artistic and scholarly vision of the Performance discipline and support the School in the pursuit of our strategic goals. As Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts (Acting), you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the BA Program, uniting rigorous skills-based actor training with local, national and international guest directors and organisations, to simulate real-life industry programs and productions; resulting in graduates who are prepared for a career both in Australia and internationally.
Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally PhD but a minimum of Masters level or equivalent professional industry experience.
A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, in addition to the above is advantageous but not essential.
A proven track-record of coordinating, developing, reviewing, and teaching curriculum at a tertiary level, including:
Demonstrated course administration skills including managing timetables, budgets, as well as course and unit documentation;
Demonstrated capacity to curate appropriate and inspirational repertoire across course work, studio projects and public productions;
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in an educational setting;
Demonstrated capacity to build strategic networks and collaborative relationships;
Experience leading dedicated teams of ongoing and sessional staff;
Capacity to foster a culture of adaptability, resilience and excellence;
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion; and
Professional Standing: demonstrated evidence of recognition as a discipline expert or master actor-trainer for stage and/or screen e.g. through past professional experience, awards, recognition, leaderships roles, or invitations for and/or active participation at conferences and/or industry events;
Academic staff are expected to achieve and maintain the outcomes outlined in the ECU Academic Staff Performance Expectations and Outcomes (ASPEO) Framework and applicable Academic Leadership role statement.
Benefits & Remuneration
This position attracts a remuneration of $128,880 to $148,089 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
